A Universal Guide to Skincare in 2022

A Universal Guide to Skincare in 2022

With the beauty sector establishing itself as an important part of modern society, many would agree that doing what's best for your skin has become more of a priority and… more complex than ever before. With hundreds of cosmetics brands sharing their perspective of what an 'ídeal skincare routine' is, all of the information can come off as overwhelming.

This article explores a skincare routine that benefits the skin as a whole, along with the use of the LOOKEE® G-Mask™ as an effective pore and acne treatment for oily, combination and dry skin. You know which facial skin care products do and do not work for your specific skin type. As long as you pair them with a bit of consistency and order, your skin will be glowing in no time. Here is our 7 step universal skincare routine.

Step 1: Cleanse

Regularly cleansing your skin of oil, dirt, and makeup is an absolute must in any skincare routine. When this isn't done, it results in the formation of pimples and acne; hence it is recommended to wash your face at least once a day. People with extra sensitive, dry skin can use cleansing waters instead of harsh face washes, while those with oily skin are known to cleanse twice a day to prevent breakouts.

After cleansing, do not reach for a used towel to dry your face. Bacteria and dirt within it can irritate your skin and also cause acne. It is recommended that you pat down your face with a paper towel or, even better, allow it to air dry.

Step 2: Exfoliation and Face Masks

Scrubs and masks are great for getting rid of dead skin and deep cleansing. How often they're used depends on the skin's sensitivity. Some people use them twice a week, but this can be irritating for sensitive skin. As a norm, it is recommended to exfoliate and/ or use a face mask at least once every two weeks. Pay attention to how your skin responds, and then use these products accordingly.

Step 3: Open Up Your Pores

Another reason for cleaning your face is to ensure that your pores are open so that your products can be easily absorbed. However, using very hot water as a means to do this can be damaging, causing fine lines and wrinkles in the long run. The LOOKEE® G-Mask™ offers a better way to prepare for your skincare routine.

Our skin's absorption rate increases up to 20 times when the deep-skin temperature increases by just 1-degree. If your skin temperature is below 28°C (82.4°F), your products won't be absorbed. The G-Mask's far infrared waves are able to surpass the surface skin, warming up the deeper layers, which allow for a phenomenal absorption boost. With daily use, the G-Mask will maximize the effectiveness of your products & help you achieve unparalleled results.

Step 4: Use a Toner

Toners help prime the face before oilier products are used as they can often block the pores. Moreso, toners are used to treat uneven skin tone by balancing its pH levels. Dermatologists suggest using an alcohol-free toner as they can cause drying and irritation, especially when used over inflamed acne.

Step 5: Use a Serum

Facial serums are miracle workers when it comes to repairing damaged skin caused by aging and acne. Following the toner, serums also function to prepare the skin for the use of moisturizers as they are less thicker and will prevent the pores from being blocked. There are a number of serums to choose from that each offer different benefits. Find one that fulfills its purpose without irritating your skin.

Step 6: Moisturize

Keeping your skin hydrated is one the most essential parts of a skincare routine and one of the quickest ways to healthy-looking skin. A problem commonly faced by oilier skin types is feeling more greasy after using a moisturizer. This problem can be fixed by using an oil-free moisturizer as it will hydrate the skin without blocking pores or causing excess oil build-up.

Many skincare enthusiasts encourage the use of sunscreen following their moisturizer. This is to protect the skin from the sun, which causes hyperpigmentation and fine lines. That being said, it's easier to prevent damaged skin than repair it.

Step 7: Seal it all in

Wear the  LOOKEE® G-Mask™ for another 30 minutes after applying your serums, creams, and other topicals. This will stimulate synergetic product absorption, ensuring that the products penetrate the deeper layers of the skin and hence work more effectively.

The G-Mask doesn't just aid with product absorption. Through far-infrared light therapy, it emits wavelengths of 6 - 14 μm. Commonly referred to as "The Light Of Life." These wavelengths are the same ones naturally emitted from the human body. They resonate with the skin cells to repair damaged skin, blemishes, fine lines and treat acne.
